Despina Demopoulos, Willy Hendson, Antoinette Cilliers, Karl Technau

Abstract

We report on six HIV-infected Black South African children who presented with vasculitides involving the medium and large vessels. Four patients presented with a stroke, one with heart failure and one with gangrene. Five patients had aneurysmal pathology and one patient had an occlusion. The arteries of the Circle of Willis and the aorta and its major branches, were extensively involved.
